Special General Election in Louisiana's 2nd Congressional D

The State of Louisiana will conduct a special general election on Saturday, April 24, 2021 to fill a vacancy for the 2nd Congressional District.

Congressional District 2 includes all of St. James Parish and portions of the following parishes: Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Jefferson, Orleans, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and West Baton Rouge.

Voters who requested an absentee ballot for the March 20 special primary election, should have also received a ranking ballot for the April 24 general election. Please vote and send in your completed and signed absentee ballot package by mail or fax before 8pm CT on April 24, 2021.

Those who are already registered to vote but have not yet requested a ballot for this election can do so by submitting the FPCA to their parish election office via email, mail, or fax by 4:30 PM CT on April 23, 2021.

If you requested your ballot, but haven't received it in time to return by the ballot deadline, use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) as a backup ballot. If your official absentee ballot arrives after sending in the FWAB, you may complete and submit the official ballot too. Only one ballot will be counted per voter.

FVAP offers an email-to-fax transmission service for service members, their eligible family members, and overseas citizens who do not have access to a fax machine. Voters can email their completed ballot package to fax@FVAP.gov before the ballot return deadline. FVAP will forward the ballot as a fax to the appropriate parish office on behalf of the voter.

Voters can verify the voted ballot is received by contacting their election office for status updates. To find the state's election website for specific information on candidates, elections, contact information, registration, and links to your local election office, visit fvap.gov/search-offices.
