FVAP TO CONDUCT VOTING ASSISTANCE WORKSHOPS WORLDWIDE

March 8, 2012 - Arlington, Va. - The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) will be conducting Voting Assistance Officer training and Installation Voting Assistance Office training online and in person throughout the spring. The 2012 training schedule can be found at the FVAP web portal.

Training will be provided by FVAP at 85 different installations, embassies and consulates worldwide. Voting Assistance Officers should contact their Installation Voting Assistance Officer or Service Voting Action Officer to RSVP.

For those VAOs and IVA Office staff members unable to attend an in-person workshop, FVAP will conduct live interactive training through GoToTraining.com. This online training will allow VAOs to communicate directly with FVAP personnel and have their questions answered in real time. You can register online at http://www.fvap.gov/vao/training.html.

Both Congress and the DoD Inspector General emphasize the importance of all VAOs receiving comprehensive training on how to perform their duties. Attendance at an FVAP workshop is the best way for VAOs to learn this information. The workshop will provide critical information, resources, and tools for the successful performance of VAO duties and ultimately the success of the voter in participating in our electoral process.
