2012 ELECTION VOTING ASSISTANCE AT MILITARY BOWL

Voting registration in conjunction with NCAA football game

December 27, 2011 - Arlington, Va. - The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) will be registering voters at the Military Bowl at RFK Stadium on December 28 in Washington, D.C. The post-season NCAA football matchup between the Air Force Academy Falcons and University of Toledo Rockets benefits and seeks to generate broad support for the USO, positively impact the regional economy, honor the U.S. military, and solidify the nation’s capital as a college football destination. Five thousand tickets will be provided free of charge to military members and their families.

FVAP staff, Voting Assistance Officers, and local election officials will be manning booths in the Military Village and stadium to register military personnel and their spouses to vote. FVAP Deputy Director of External Relations and Communications, Scott Wiedmann, will be present to speak with attendees and onsite media.
